The Estate had a number of redundant buildings that required attention in order to generate additional income. One of these barns was granted planning permission and has been converted into a cheese manufacturing plant that produces organic Lancashire cheese. Since the start of production Leagram Dairy have been awarded the gold medal standard at the British Cheese Awards for Lancashire cheese entry.

Most of the Leagram Estate is already managed under Countryside Stewardship. However, Mr. Weld-Blundell has added a wet, rushy field into the scheme to ensure stocking levels are kept low, which reduces the chances of ground nesting birds like curlew and redshank having their nests trampled. Two barns are also being restored, using traditional materials, under Stewardship as well as tree surgery and wall restoration in the historic parkland. Also, in line with the recommendations of the British Horse Society Bridleway Strategy document, a new permissive bridleway has been created to provide a safe off-road route, as shown below.
