You will no doubt have already heard about the complete turnaround the Three Fishes at Mitton has been through. The pub was founded over 400 years ago but had not been in operation for three years until in early 2004 Craig Bancroft and Nigel Haworth, of the award-winning Northcote Manor secured a 25 year lease on the property. The Three Fishes had an astonishing makeover to become the high quality pub that it is today.

The Three Fishes

The Three Fishes places a large emphasis on local food. This ethos is not new; in fact this close relationship between suppliers, producers and chefs has been in operation for years at the Northcote Manor. By sourcing the food locally, the Three Fishes adds value to our local produce and also promotes the area as a source of good food of known provenance. As soon as you walk into the pub, you soon notice how important local producers are to the team at the Three Fishes. Photos of local farmers and producers are scattered along the walls of the pub to acknowledge their contribution to the top quality food served to all customers.

Part of the LEADER+ project for the Three Fishes included the purchase of a food waste processor. This processor reduces the volume of food waste, removes odours and processes the waste into a product, which can be used as compost on vegetable plots. The processor avoids the odorous and unsightly storage of waste food prior to disposal.
