Amanda Reddy, trading as Redjewel, launched her new business at the high quality contemporary British Crafts Trade Fair in Harrogate in April. It was the Platform Gallery in Clitheroe who chose Amanda to be the Ribble Valley’s representative at this year’s trade show.
Amanda designs and makes bespoke jewellery in limited ranges and one off commissions. She works in gold, silver and precious stones. She particularly enjoys commission work which is the creation of individual pieces of jewellery for men and women who want a ‘one off.’ Amanda uses her skills and expertise to work in partnership with the customer to create a design that will reflect their personality whilst incorporating her flair for design. She has found that wedding and engagement rings and jewellery made to celebrate a significant event are particularly popular for people wanting something special. Amanda said ‘It was an exciting and positive experience, I made many contacts in the trade and had particular interest from a number of prestigious galleries including Leeds City Art Gallery and The City of Edinburgh Galleries and Museums, as well more local venues in Kendal, Keswick and of course Platform Gallery. Gaining recognition in high class galleries and retail outlets is one of the first steps to raising my profile so that I can sell direct to the public via the Redjewel website’ You can contact Amanda on 01200 429396 or www.redjewel.co.uk Back to Bowland Charter Members Index
