Lancashire Rural Futures

Situated in Claughton-on-Brock, Cobble Hey is a working hill farm, which over the last eight years has developed a beautiful garden on what was once grazing land. Cobble Hey was first opened in 2002 for the National Garden Scheme and since then has had remarkable success on the alternative weekends that it was open.

Cobble Hey Gardens

Cobble Hey Gardens have just won Small Visitor Attraction of the year for Lancashire & Blackpool Tourist Board. The site has been visited by special interest gardening groups, the WI, local schools undertaking project work and has played host to a stonewalling competition. The site has magnificent views over the Forest of Bowland and has an important breeding ground for Lapwings within its fields. In conjunction with the RSPB and the Wyre Side country rangers, the Cobble Hey project will include the creation of a farm walk which will lead visitors around the farm on a ‘Lapwing trail’ and also connect the site to the local village.

The aim of this project is to open the farm and gardens as a tourist attraction with the inclusion of a small café/gift shop and a children’s playground. LEADER money has been offered to help fund both environmental and marketing aspects of the project.
